Barnen bakom missbruket: yrkesverksammas erfarenheter av gruppen som stöd2010Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

The aim of this essay was to study how the communities work with groups as a support to children with addictive parents, and to increase my understanding of the groups meaning as a support. My main questions have been: How are the child group sessions formed? What kind of experience does the group leaders have regarding their functions? The study is a qualitative investigation that has been turned to prefessionals in the subject area and  is based on 6 interviews and secondary sources. The material has been analyzed from a narrativ theory as well as a salutogent perspective. Research shows that children growing up in an addictive environment often have decreased psychological health and are overrepresented amongst those who developed a future addiction. During the 1990- ies the first groups for children in addicted enviroments developed in Sweden and since then the groups have improved intensely. Reasearch shows that support is an important part for children with addictive parents and those who has managed well in life has had an adult to support and confirm them. All of my interviews worked with children are people too (CAP) as a method but the shape of the groups were formed differently. They showed the importance of meeting with other children in the same situations and rebuilding their self esteem. It was important that the child was aware that the parents addiction wasn´t their fault and nothing they could change. My result clearly shows the importance of the group existence and describes that the children progressivly opened up and could talk about their experiences. The need of the group sessions felt as large but the difficulty lies in how to get the children to enter the group. In the matter of development my interviews wanted the public to be more aware of these problems and let them know that these groups existed.

Klassteorier: en kritisk jämförelse och vetenskapsteoretisk utvärdering av fyra teorier om klass2014Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [en]

At Katrineholms Municipality all employees are offered a full time employment. Despite that offer, a great deal of the workers choose to work part time. The largest group, who choose to remain in part-time employment, are women who work in the health and social-care sector. Swedens Municipalitys & Countys (SKL) have together with the union of Kommunal agreed to offer full time employments to all employees from the year 2021. The hope is that this will bring a safe employment, contribute to an increased equality and help mitigate the lack of expertise that the municipalitys are facing in the near future. That´s why it is so important to find an answer to why so many employees choose part time instead of full time employments. This essays framing of the question is: Why does tenured women in Katrineholms Municipality choose to work part-time. The obstacles for fulltime employment needs to be identified. The employer has to be aware of if the obstacles are of an organizational kind or if it depends on outer social and cultural causes. Is it possible for the employer to organize the work in different ways to enable for the part-time employees to work more hours? The intention of this essay is that through a qualitative approach study the part-time work from a sociological point of view. The focus has been on questions of gender equality, gender-labeled work, cultural conditions and the organizations ability to organize the work to achieve a heightened level of equality based on these focus areas. The essay touches questions of what is considered a good working environment and how the balance between work and spare time is perceived. This essay has, based on theoretical background supported by interviews, identified two major obstacles: one obstacle is related to cultural and social norms of parenting and the other is obstacles related to the organization of work. The essay reached tangible proposals for action for the organization to consider in the forthcoming challenge. With the objective to get more of the part-time employees to reconsider the possibility of a full time employment.
