    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of this study is to explain how managerial and professional ethics of auditors affect the development of intellectual capital in audit firms. The dependent variable, intellectual capital, has been derived from previous studies and includes under-concepts human capital, organizational capital and social capital. The independent variables are inspired from Sylvander (2015) and consist of the two ethical aspects: managerial ethics and professional ethics.

    The sample of this study consists of 64 auditors geographically spread in Sweden. The respondents stem from both Big 4 audit firms as well as smaller firms. The participants are members of the Supervisory Board of Public Accountants in Sweden where we gathered our 3066 email addresses from. These auditors where then asked to answer the questionnaire provided through SurveyMonkey.

    The design of this study is based on a fundamental positivistic philosophy with a deductive approach. As a result, an empirical quantitative method with a cross-sectional design was chosen. The theoretical framework provided in this study is in general based on social exchange theory, behavioural theory, upper-echelon theory and profession theory.

    The findings of the study indicate that a stronger reliance on managerial ethics in decision-making is positively related to the development of human capital. This was found in the original testing in through regression. However, in the explorative statistics, our tests by using factor analysis have also found that auditors perceive business ethics and intellectual capital differently from what was expected from our literature review. The findings indicate that auditors perceive business ethics, not as managerial and professional ethics, but rather as internal and external ethics. Also, auditors do not perceive intellectual capital as three under-concepts; instead they tend to perceive what we refer to tacit individual capital and collective organizational capital.

    Municipal Corporations: A Study of The Accounting Choice2014Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

    Accounting choice has prior to this dissertation been studied comprehensively in the private sector, and in a small extent in the public sector.

    The purpose of this study is to explain what factors influence the accounting choice in municipal corporations. The dependent variable, accounting choice, has been limited to explain if the municipal corporations either use the fair-value method or the cost-depreciation method when considering asset value loss. The independent variables are partly derived from the New Public Management, which is an umbrella term for the decentralisation of public state authority.

    The findings of the study indicate that the factors municipal corporations’ dual role does not influence the accounting choice. However, a correlation between the turnover and the use of the fair-value method has been found. The study also shows that there is a correlation between the regulations of the Municipal Act and the use of fair-value method. Furthermore, only one of the hypotheses was found significant. This stated that there is a positive correlation between the financing from the private sector and the use of cost-depreciation method to value tangible assets. The findings indicate that one cannot study municipal corporations as a single phenomenon (i.e. no municipal corporations is another alike). This is because they incorporate charachteristics from both the public and the private sector, and thus, have different levels of publicness.

    The limitation of this study is that the dependent variable accounting choice is only considering the asset value loss (i.e. fair-value and cost-depreciation method), and thus, does not give a holistic picture of the research field.

    Abstract [sv]

    Syftet med denna uppsats är att med hjälp av litteratur, observationer och elevtexter, undersöka hur man med hjälp av skönlitteratur kan inspirera elevers skrivande individuellt och i samspel med andra. Arbetet inleds med en forskningsbakgrund som fokuserar på elevers skrivutveckling, användning av skönlitteratur i skolan, vad styrdokumenten nämner om skrivande och skönlitteratur samt redogörelse för hur analyser av texter kan utföras.

    Metoden som använts för att inspirera elevers skrivande beskrivs, där utgångspunkten är en skönlitterär bok om Tummen av Inger och Lasse Sandberg. Eleverna har fått instruktioner om hur man bygger upp en text, för att sedan kunna skriva egna texter. För att kunna få en inblick i det enskilda skrivandet och skrivandet i grupp har en klass skrivit individuellt och en klass skrivit i grupp. Analyser av elevernas texter samt observationer under tiden eleverna skrev individuellt och i grupp har utförts.

    Analyserna av elevtexterna och observationerna visade att texterna var ganska lika, men att det spelade stor roll om gruppen fungerade i det gemensamma skrivandet. Analyserna har gett insikt i betydelsen av elevers läsintresse, för att kunna skriva egna berättelser som har en röd tråd och en god uppbyggnad.

    Abstract [en]

    Air polishing was introduced as an alternative approach for the supra- and submucosal biofilm management at dental implants. An international expert meeting involving competent clinicians and researchers took place during the EUROPERIO 8 conference in London, UK, on 4 June 2015. Prior to this meeting a comprehensive systematic review dealing with the efficacy of air polishing in the treatment of peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis was prepared and served as a basis for the group discussions. This paper summarizes the consensus statements and practical recommendations on the clinical application of air polishing for the management of peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis.

    Efficacy of air polishing for the non-surgical treatment of peri-implant diseases: a systematic review2015In: Journal of Clinical Periodontology, ISSN 0303-6979, E-ISSN 1600-051X, Vol. 42, no 10, p. 951-959Article, review/survey (Refereed)
    Abstract [en]

    Focused Question: In patients suffering from peri-implant diseases, what is the efficacy of air polishing on changing signs of inflammation compared with control treatments (i.e. alternative measures for plaque removal with or without adjunctive antiseptic and/or antibiotic therapy)? Material & Methods: After electronic database and hand search, 10 full-text articles were independently screened by two reviewers. Finally, a total of five studies (six publications) fulfilled the inclusion criteria. The weighted mean difference (WMD) [p; 95% CI] in bleeding on probing-(BOP) (primary outcome) and probing pocket depth-(PD) reductions was estimated using a random effect model. Results: All studies reported on residual BOP scores after therapy. A narrative data synthesis did not reveal any major improvement of bleeding index/BOP or disease resolution following air polishing over mechanical debridement at mucositis sites. At peri-implantitis sites, WMD in BOP reduction between test and control (mechanical debridement with or without local antiseptic therapy, Er:YAG laser) groups was -23.83% [p = 0.048; 95% CI (-47.47, -0.20)] favouring air polishing over control measures. Conclusions: While glycine powder air polishing is as effective as the control treatments at mucositis sites, it may improve the efficacy of non-surgical treatment of peri-implantitis over the control measures investigated. A complete disease resolution was commonly not obtained.

    Abstract [en]

    Background: Most elderly people who lives with dementia, suffer in some point during the time of their disease from behavioural and psychological symptoms, which could mean much suffering for the person in question. Studies have shown that contact with dogs can decrease these symptoms. In Sweden today, dogs are trained to work with persons who suffers from dementia. Purpose: The purpose of the study is to illuminate nursing staff´s experience of working with dog- assisted therapy and elderly persons who suffer from dementia. Method: The study had a qualitative approach. Thirteen individual semistructured interviews with nursing staff were performed at four nursing homes in southern Sweden. Qualitative content analysis was used to analyse the material. Result: In the analysis four categories emerged, dog-assisted therapy creates joy and harmony, evokes a positive lasting atmosphere, bring back positive memories and skills and also creates contact and closeness. Conclusion: The study indicates that, when elderly people with dementia suffers from behavioural and psychological symptoms, dog- assisted therapy can increase their well- being, by creating joy, harmony and closeness and by making the person remember. More research is needed to reach an increased knowledge about the meaning of dog-assisted therapy for elderly people with dementia.

    BACKGROUND: The impact of positive social relationships on the health of municipal employees in the elder care sector in Sweden needs further examination.

    OBJECTIVE: To explore the association between health and relationships among elderly care employees using a salutogenic perspective.

    METHOD: Survey of all employees (n = 997) in special housing, home care and Disabled Support and Services in a Swedish municipality. The questionnaire, which had a salutogenic perspective, included information on self-rated health from the previously validated SHIS (Salutogenic Health Indicator Scale), psychosocial work environment and experiences, social climate, and health-promoting workplace relationships.

    RESULTS: The response rate was 69% . Results of a multivariable linear regression model showed four significant predictors of health: general work experiences, colleague belongingness and positive relationships with managers and care recipients. In another model, colleague belongingness was significantly related to satisfaction with care recipients, work, length of employment as well as general work experiences and relationships with managers.

    CONCLUSION: Strengthening of positive work relationships, not only between workmates but also with managers and care recipients, seems to be an essential area for employee health promotion. Colleague belongingness may be deepened by development of a positive work climate, including satisfactory work experiences, positive manager relationships and a stable work force.

    AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to explore municipal healthcare employees' experiences of relationships with care recipients and colleagues. The specific research questions were when do the relationships enhance well-being, and what prerequisites are needed for such relationships to occur?.

    BACKGROUND: Employees in health and social care for older people often depict their work in negative terms, and they often take a high number of sick leaves. Despite the heavy workload, other employees express well-being at work and highlight social relationships as one reason for this. However, a greater understanding of how these relationships can act as resources for workplace well-being is needed.

    DESIGN: The design of the study was qualitative and exploratory.

    METHODS: Qualitative interview studies were conducted with twenty-three healthcare employees in municipal healthcare. Thematic analysis was used to analyse the data.

    RESULTS: Two themes were identified as resources for promoting relationships between employees and care recipients or colleagues: (i) Being personal - a close interpersonal relationship to a care recipient - and (ii) Colleague belongingness - a sense of togetherness within the working group. Spending quality time together, providing long-term care and providing additional care were antecedents for a close interpersonal relationship with care recipients. Trust, mutual responsibility and cooperation were antecedents for a sense of togetherness within the working group.

    CONCLUSIONS: The findings provide an empirical base to raise awareness of relationships with care recipients and colleagues as health aspects. Relationships among employees in healthcare are vital resources that must be considered to create sustainable workplaces, and consequently improve the quality of care.     Abstract [en]

    The reason why we chose to investigate how preschool managers view supervision, is because during our specialist preschool teachers training and our own experiences had been that supervision is often not used proactively, but more as a disciplinary tool. According to Swedish School law it is the duty of the preschool manager to ensure the progress and the development of the education in the preschool. We want to investigate if specialist educational supervision could lead to improvement of professional competency and an overall improvement within the organisation.

     

    The purpose of our investigation is to gain an insight into specialist preschool managers attitude towards professional supervision and how supervision is being used in preschool organisations. We have interviewed five preschool managers from four different municipalities about their view on professional supervision and how they use it in their preschool organisations. Four out of five preschool organisations employ a specialist teacher and one preschool has access to an external specialist teacher.

     

    The outcome is that specialist educational supervision is used to develop the organisation, to increase the competency amongst teachers, to provide an opportunity to reflect and get new ideas. The outcome also demonstrates the importance of the competence and skill set of the supervisor and what challenges organisations might face when providing supervision. The gains of providing specialist teachers within organisations were also evident, and that there are challenges with accessing this support externally instead.

     

    An further outcome of our study is that specialist educational supervision in preschool contributes to organisational development and an increase of the teachers’ competency. When analysing the results in our study we have used a system theoretical perspective on professional supervision.

    Abstract [sv]

    Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka om de speciella villkor som kommer med en ambulerande anställning i ett bemanningsföretag har någon påverkan på arbetstillfredställelsen. Tidigare forskning har visat på att det finns en del brister inom bemanningsbranschen som inte finns inom traditionella, stationära, arbetsplatser. Många av dessa brister kunde sammankopplas till Herzbergers et. al. (1999) tvåfaktorsteori på vilken undersökningen främst baserades. Den innebär att det på arbetsplatsen finns två olika sorters faktorer som påverkar tillfredställelsen på arbetsplatsen. Hygienfaktorerna som skapar otrivsel när de saknas och motivationsfaktorerna som skapar trivsel när de är närvarande. En enkätstudie genomfördes på ett bemanningsföretag i Stockholm. Tvåfaktorsteorin fick stöd genom att signifikanta samband framkom som visade att motivations- och hygienfaktorerna påverkar arbetstillfredställelsen. Motivations- och hygienfaktorerna var varken höga eller låga. Det sociala stödet däremot visade sig vara högt vilket är ovanligt för branschen. Intressanta samband fanns också med ålder och en önskan att få en stationär anställning

    Abstract [en]

    Objective : To examine current provision of cleft lip and/or palate services in the U.K. and compliance with recommendations made by the Clinical Standards Advisory Group (CSAG) in 1998. Design : Cross-sectional questionnaire survey. Setting : All 11 services within the U.K. providing care for children born with a cleft lip and palate. Participants : Members from each healthcare specialty in each U.K. cleft team. Interventions : Self-administered postal questionnaires enquired about the provision of cleft services. Data were collected about the overall cleft service, team coordination, hearing, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, primary cleft surgery, psychology, restorative dentistry, secondary surgery, specialist cleft nursing, and speech and language therapy. Results : Questionnaires were returned from members of 130/150 cleft teams (87%) and these showed that U.K. cleft services have been restructured to 11 centralized services with 17 primary operative sites and 61 peripheral sites. All services provide care through a multidisciplinary (MDT) model, but the composition of each team varies. Primary cleft surgery and orthodontics were the only specialties that were represented in all cleft teams. Specialties may be represented in a team but their attendance at MDT clinics is variable. Only one team met all of the CSAG recommendations. Conclusions : Our survey shows that cleft services have centralized over the last 10 years, and an MDT model of care has been adopted. Further research is needed to show how this has influenced outcomes and to see whether some models of centralized care are associated with better outcomes.

    Abstract [en]

    BACKGROUND: Cleft care provision in the United Kingdom has been centralized over the past 15 years to improve outcomes for children born with cleft lip and palate. However, to date, there have been no investigations to examine how well these multidisciplinary teams are performing. METHODS: In this pilot study, a cross-sectional questionnaire surveyed members of all health care specialties working to provide cleft care in 11 services across the United Kingdom. Team members were asked to complete the Team Work Assessment (TWA) to investigate perceptions of team working in cleft services. The TWA comprises 55 items measuring seven constructs: team foundation, function, performance and skills, team climate and atmosphere, team leadership, and team identity; individual constructs were also aggregated to provide an overall TWA score. Items were measured using five-point Likert-type scales and were converted into percentage agreement for analysis. RESULTS: Responses were received from members of every cleft team. Ninety-nine of 138 cleft team questionnaires (71.7%) were returned and analyzed. The median (interquartile range) percentage of maximum possible score across teams was 75.5% (70.8, 88.2) for the sum of all items. Team performance and team identity were viewed most positively, with 82.0% (75.0, 88.2) and 88.4% (82.2, 91.4), respectively. Team foundation and leadership were viewed least positively with 79.0% (72.6, 84.6) and 76.6% (70.6, 85.4), respectively. CONCLUSIONS: Cleft team members perceive that their teams work well, but there are variations in response according to construct.

    Recent research shows that the dominant practice in mathematics education in Sweden involves students working individually from a textbook. However, to read mathematical texts involves comprehending the global meaning from the page and this requires specific reading skills. In this study, the reading strategies of six 10-year old students, with different levels of mathematical achievement, are identified. The analysis is based on Palinscar and Brown’s reciprocal activities prediction, clarification and summarisation and Halliday’s Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL). In this small study, high achieving students more often described that they used appropriate reading strategies.

    In school mathematics, mathematical reasoning with an emphasis on language is considered an important competence. A student’s competence to reason in mathematics requires specific reading and writing skills, but suitable activities to support these skills are difficult to find. In this thesis, an Educational Design Research study has been conducted to support Grade 4 students’ reasoning competence when reading and writing texts in school mathematics. During a 15-week period, the reading comprehension strategies of prediction, clarification, questioning and summarization found in Palinscar and Brown’s Reciprocal Teaching model were implemented. To analyse what unfolded in the classroom and what comprised the everyday teaching and learning activities as well as what needed to change, a conceptual framework of coordinating theories and concepts from the Reciprocal Teaching model and Systematic Functional Linguistics was applied. The results from the intervention show that all four reading comprehension strategies in the Reciprocal Teaching model were essential, and the combination of them facilitated a change in the students’ mathematical reasoning. However, the strategies needed to be modified for school mathematics, and the teacher’s method of scaffolding became essential for further developing the students’ reasoning competence.

    The practice of reasoning has been regarded as core element for developing mathematical arguments. However, curricula reforms have only recently focused on reasoning as an essen- tial part of mathematics education. In Sweden, the emphasis on systematically developing reasoning competences began in 1994 and became even more explicitly focused in the 2011 mathematics curricula reform documents. However, many stu- dies, including our own, show that students and teachers face difficulties in conceiving what reasoning might mean and also how its growth can be supported in the everyday mathematics classroom setting. Through a collaborative intervention study, the present paper explores how the coordination amongst the basic tenets of Reciprocal Teaching and Systemic Functional Lin- guistics perspectives could potentially create a pedagogic design for Grade 4 students’ reasoning in specific mathematical tasks.

    The aim of this study was to determine the self-perceived learning needs in patients with Coronary Heart Disease (CHD). CHD is the leading cause of death worldwide. Poor compliance is one of the causes of rehospitalisation. Patients suffering from CHD need education in order to manage their disease and prevent readmission to hospital. As hospital stays diminish the time available for patient education is limited. It is therefore vital to identify the learning needs of patients in order to achieve optimal educational intervention. By allowing the patients themselves to express their wishes for eduction, their motivation to engage in self-care is increased. A systematic literature rewiew was carried out. Electronic database searches as well as a manual search resulted in 13 quantitative and three qualitative articles that were included in the study. Patients considered all information categories important to learn. Medication, symtom recognition and management, treatment and anatomy and psysiology were ranked as top categories. Patients with CHD perceived learning needs in all areas related to CHD. The results of this study could be used to create tailored educational programmes in order to increase patient complicance and thus decrease hospital readmissions.

    Uppsatsens huvudfrågor handlar om hur religionsämnet och kursplanerna har förändrats genom tiderna, hur ämnet kan beskrivas utifrån olika perspektiv samt vilka förutsättningar ämnet har. För att få fram lärarnas förhållningssätt till ämnet, och dess konsekvenser, har vi utgått från följande frågeställningar: Vilket existensberättigande har religionsämnet i dagens och morgondagens skola, vilka syften ser lärare som religionskunskapens viktigaste samt hur påverkar detta lärares val av arbetsområden och informationskällor? Enkätstudien grundar sig på 11 lärare i grundskolans åk 4 och 5.

    Resultatet av undersökningen visar att kristendomen dominerar trots att lärarna ser förståelse för andra människors religioner och livsåskådningar som ämnets främsta syften. Resultatet visar också på ett mycket litet samband mellan vad lärarna uppger som ämnets syften, val av stoff och val av arbetsområden som de uppger att de gör. Religionsämnet spelar en viktig roll i arbetet att förbereda eleverna inför ett allt mer mångkulturellt samhälle. Vikten av att arbeta med ämnet utifrån dagens villkor och förutsättningar är essentiellt då motsatsen kan medföra att tolerans och förståelse för andra människor inte utvecklas tillräckligt väl. Framtidens samhälle kan då bli segregerat med en utbredd rasism och främlingsfientlighet som följd.

    Abstract [en]

    Aim: The aim of this study was to examine and explain the various methods available to rate the erosion damage, and on which teeth and tooth surfaces of erosion damage mostly occurs in children and adolescents.

    Method: A literature review was conducted, based on 15 scientific articles that have been reviewed, evaluated and analyzed. Articles were searched for in the database PubMed.

    Result: Six of the articles used the TWI (tooth wear index), which is an index to diagnose the tooth wear in the primary and permanent dentition. Eight articles used other indices as they considered that the TWI was not sufficiently developed to register the degree of tooth wear on some teeth. Tooth wear in the primary dentition occurs most often in the canines and incisors. Tooth wear in the permanent dentition was found in the literature to be mostly occurring on the occlusal / incisal surfaces of all teeth and tooth surfaces.Lyssna

    Conclusion: There is no common index in the articles but many of them use the TWI. It may therefore be beneficial for the future to development a common index that can be useful for all age groups and categories in order to diagnose the tooth wear.

    Abstract [en]

    Overweight and obesity are a huge health problem worldwide. Year 2008 it was about 1,5 billion adults that were overweight. The aim of this study was to investigate if there is an increased occurrence of dental caries and periodontal disease in adults with overweight/obesity. The study was limited to adults that were nineteen years old and above. The material was collected from the databases PubMed and Science Direct and a manual search. These results are based on fourteen scientific articles.

    Two scientific articles showed an increased occurrence of dental caries on persons with overweight/obesity compared with people who were normal weighted. The other studies (n=2) did not found a direct correlation between increased caries and overweight/obesity.

    The presence of periodontal disease in individuals with overweight/obesity was found to be increased significantly in several studies (n=4) compared to participants with normal weight. The other studies (n=6) showed a relation between occurrence of periodontitis and overweight/obesity.

    There seems to be an increased occurence of periodontitis in persons with overweight/obesity as several socio- economic factors or other conditions affect. The few scientific articles that were examined show that factors such as diet, saliva and oral hygiene are important in caries occurrence

    This article focus on how teachers’ experience the criterion-referenced grading system as a phenomenon and consists of one of three themes from a thesis titled Not yet passed: How teachers’ experience a criterion-referenced grading system and what they say about its use in Swedish secondary schools. The empirical study was carried out as semi-structured audiotaped interviews with thirty qualified teachers, in the subjects English, Maths and Swedish, who all had experiences of assessing and grading according to the new grading system. Teachers in just these subjects are the only ones that have national tests as a support for grading their students. This theme has a phenomenographic approach. The results are described in four hierarchically arranged categories. The results show that the new criterionreferenced grading system in secondary schools in Sweden seems to function unsatisfactorily. Teachers seem not to have grasped the assumptions underlying the grading system. The change from grading based on quantitative aspects of knowledge to qualitative ones, was evidently too big a step. Instead teachers’ assessments and gradings follow ingrained habits.

    This thesis reports results from a study that focuses on how teachers experience the criterion-referenced grading system and how they say they use it in their professional work. The empirical study was carried out as semi-structured audiotaped interviews with thirty qualified teachers, in the subjects English, Maths and Swedish. The outcome of the qualitative analysis consists of four parts. In the first, the theme analysed was teachers' ways of experiencing the grading system as a phenomenon. This theme has an phenomenographic approach. The results are described in four hierarchically arranged categories. In the second theme, teachers' ways of using the grading system in their professional work was examined. Six situations were identified. In the third theme, teachers' experience of what aspects they discern in the student's grade, was in focus. Even here six categories were established. Finally, four different examples of attitudes towards the grading system and the grading process are presented as a fictional composite. The results show that the new criterion-referenced grading system in secondary schools in Sweden seems to funciton unsatisfactorily. Teachers seem not to have grasped the assumptions underlying the grading system. The change from grading based on quantitative aspects of knowledge to qualitative ones, was evidently too big a step. Instead teachers' assessment and grading follow ingrained habits.

    Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur matematikundervisningen bedrivs och hur den nya läroplanen integreras i denna. En studie har genomförts riktad mot elever i tre klasser som går i årskurs åtta samt deras undervisande lärare i matematik. 71 elever svarade på en enkät, tre lärare intervjuades och observationer av klassrummen gjordes. I vårt resultat och analysarbete har vi kombinerat svaren från de olika metoderna för att få en djupare förståelse och ökad validitet. Resultatet visar att lärarna strävar efter variation i undervisningen för att eleverna ska uppnå de mål och förmågor som finns i den nya läroplanen, Lgr11. Eleverna trivs i hög grad med hur undervisningen bedrivs idag men önskar mer variation. Lärarna lyfter bland annat brist på tid och resurser som en stark faktor vid planering av en varierad undervisning utifrån elevernas behov.

    Som lärare i grundsärskolan saknade jag ofta bra undervisningsmaterial till mina elever. Utifrån detta utkristalliserades syftet med studien som är att undersöka om kartläggningsmaterialet MRP – The Mathematic Recovery Programme från ”Early Numeracy” (Wright, Martland & Stafford, 2006) är användbart i grundsärskolan och i så fall vilka delar som lämpar sig att använda i grundsärskolan, samt att se om de uppföljande uppgifterna som rekommenderas ger någon effekt på elever i grundsärskolan.

    För att kunna besvara detta har 13 grundsärskoleelevers aritmetiska kunskaper kartlagts. Därefter valdes 7 elever ut, vilka utmanades utifrån uppgifter från det kompletterande materialet ”Teaching Number (Wright, Martland & Stafford, 2006), antingen enskilt eller i grupp.  Studien har genomförts med hjälp av deltagande observationer och flexibla intervjuer (Ginsburg, Jacobs & Lopez, 1998).

    Studiens teoretiska grund finns i det konstruktivistiska perspektivet och det sociokulturella perspektivet. Det konstruktivistiska perspektivet valdes eftersom de betonar vikten av att uppgifterna anpassas efter individens inre mognad och kognitiva förmåga, vilket väl kan kombineras med det sociokulturella perspektivet som betonar vikten av den sociala gruppens gemenskap som en förutsättning för utveckling inom den proximala utvecklingszonen.

    Studiens resultat visar på att materialet är lika användbart i grundsärskolan som i grundskolans tidiga år, eftersom kartläggningsmaterialet hjälpte pedagogen att finna elevens kunskapsnivå, samt därefter lyckades utmana eleven att utvidga sina kunskaper under en treveckorsperiod. Alla eleverna utökade sina matematiska kunskaper under studiens gång. 

    Slutsatsen blir att alla elever bör kartläggas med MRP del 1.1 och 2.1, men därefter får antalet delar anpassas efter elevernas kunskapsnivå. För att genomföra kartläggningen och de uppföljande utmaningarna rekommenderas att pedagogen är väl insatt i materialets utformning och tanke för att kunna utmana eleven utifrån dennes resultat.

    Syftet med undersökningen är att få ta del av pedagogers erfarenheter av att ha individintegrerade elever i sin grupp/klass och att få ta del av pedagogers syn på hur vi kan nå ett ökat samarbete mellan grundskolan och grundsärskolan. Och hur skolan kan bli bättre på att möta alla elever i behov av särskilt stöd.

    De senaste åren har det skett en ökning till särskolan men ändå har samhället en vision om ”en skola för alla”. Uppsatsen tar upp särskolan och deras arbetssätt och vilka elever som särskolan är till för. Carlbeck-Kommitténs slutbetänkande tas upp i ett eget kapitel och där ges frågor som rör ett närmande av de bägge skolformerna. Begrepp som normalitet, särskiljning, inkludering och segregering behandlas i uppsatsen. Uppsatsen belyser också några förklaringar till svårigheter i mötet mellan skolformerna. Teorier som är använda i uppsatsen är stämplingsteorin och systemteorin.

    Jag valde att göra en kvalitativ undersökning ute på olika skolor, från förskoleklass till år fyra. Den kvalitativa undersökningen gjordes i form av intervjuer då jag sökte pedagogers erfarenheter av det aktuella ämnet. Studien visar att pedagoger vill ha en mer nära relation till sin egna skolledning och att skolledningen måste arbeta aktivt med de frågor som rör särskolan. Det behövs mer kunskap om särskolan och dess elever. Det måste till attitydförändringar om skolan ska lyckas med att möta alla elever. En ökad acceptans för elevers olikheter.

    Lärobokens roll i geografiundervisningen är av betydande karaktär och styrdokumenten menar att kunskap ska förmedlas utefter en variation av teorier. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka hur instuderingsuppgifterna i två läroböcker i geografi på gymnasiet förhåller sig till de tre lärodimensionerna, behaviorism, kognitivism och konstruktivism. Problempreciseringarna för uppsatsen är:

    - Hur förhåller sig de två läroböckernas instuderingsuppgifter till behaviorism, kognitivism och konstruktivism?

    - Hur förhåller sig uppgifterna i de två läroböckerna till varandra vid en jämförelse i användningen av teorierna?

    Läroböckerna vilka granskas är de två läromedelsserier vilka finns tillhanda dags datum för gymnasiet i geografi. Läroböckerna är Geo-guiden av Torsten Persson, Tord Porsne, Göran Andersson och Bo Andersson från år 2000 och Geografi- människan, resurserna och miljön av Peter Östman, Olof Barrefors och Kalju Luksepp från 2002. Uppsatsen undersöker även hur de två läroböckerna förhåller sig till varandra i användningen av de tre teorierna. Resultatet bygger på en tolkningsram för teorierna konstruerad utefter litteratur vilken förklarar de olika teorierna. Uppsatsen visar att läroböckernas uppgifter förhåller sig till teorier på olika sätt och att deras användningsområde skiftar. Geo-guiden domineras av konstruktivism medan Geografi- människan, resurserna, miljön använder sig av de tre teorierna i ungefär samma utsträckning.

    Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka och problematisera diskurser som kommer till uttryck i pedagogers resonemang kring genusfrågor. Studiens ansats är feministisk poststrukturalism. Vi vill kunna identifiera och fördjupa förståelsen för språkligt burna värden i pedagogernas resonemang, eftersom dessa inverkar på hur elever förstår sig själva, andra och förhåller sig till varandra. Vi har för syfte att nå och synliggöra strukturer. För att uppnå syftet formulerades följande frågeställningar: Vilka diskurser rörande genusfrågor kan utläsas i pedagogers resonemang? Och hur kan de utlästa diskurserna förstås i förhållande till nationella krav i Lgr11? För att besvara frågeställningarna har vi genomfört en kvalitativ intervjustudie med fem pedagoger. Intervjuerna har sedan analyserats med inspiration av diskursanalytiska metoder. De diskurser som utlästs i pedagogernas resonemang har varit sådana som förklarar individer som olika beroende av könstillhörighet. I förhållande till framskrivelser i Lgr11 så förstår vi sådana diskurser som problematiska, eftersom de strider emot styrdokumentets krav.
